Smart Field Generator

The Smart Field Generator: a silver ActiveWave case with two black antennas.

The Smart Field Generator did the Standard Field Generator's work and added a radio link to its reader. It sent wake-up commands to tags at 433 MHz.

It talked with its reader at 916 MHz, 927 MHz or 868 MHz. Through that link it reported to the host when it powered up, and the host could change its address.

A user could set its address, its assigned reader, its mode, the tags it called and its field strength. It adjusted its field strength over the radio link.

It had three modes: on a timer, on a motion sensor, or on the host's command. The third let the system search for a tag ID, a tag type or all tags at any time.

These figures are the original units' claims, quoted as their source printed them. Where two ActiveWave datasheets disagree, this site quotes each and does not reconcile them. A rating or a test result belongs to the original units and does not carry over to a rebuild.

Nothing on this site says a rebuild may transmit on these frequencies as they are. Radio rules differ by country, and the TigeRFID project checks them before it chooses a rebuild's radios.
